Hypochlorous Acid

Hypochlorous Acid:

1. Product Introduction: Hypochlorous acid is an oxygen-containing acid of chlorine, with the chemical formula HClO and the structural formula H-O-Cl. The chlorine element in hypochlorous acid has a +1 oxidation state, making it the lowest oxidation state oxygen-containing acid of chlorine. However, it exhibits strong oxidizing properties among chlorine's oxygen-containing acids and is the second strongest acid in terms of oxidation. It only exists in solution, with concentrated solutions appearing yellow and dilute solutions being colorless. It has a pungent odor similar to chlorine gas and is highly unstable. Hypochlorous acid is a weak acid, weaker than carbonic acid and comparable to hydrogen sulfide acid. It also has strong bleaching properties, and its salts can be used as bleaching agents and disinfectants.
